Danbury Brazilian Festival: September 5–6
Downtown Danbury celebrates Brazilian culture throughout the weekend at the Danbury Brazilian Festival on the CityCenter Green.
Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The free event includes Brazilian food, live music and performances, children's activities, vendors and an adult beverage garden.
Revolutionary War Encampment & Reenactment in Fairfield: September 5–6
Fairfield's Labor Day programming includes an outdoor Revolutionary War Encampment & Reenactment at the Fairfield Museum & History Center, 370 Beach Road.
The encampment runs from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a battle reenactment from 1 to 2 p.m., on both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.
Music Mountain in Falls Village: September 5–6
For classical music in the Litchfield Hills, Music Mountain continues its 97th season with two Labor Day weekend concerts.
Borromeo String Quartet & Friends performs Saturday at 7 p.m., followed by the Penderecki String Quartet with pianist Victoria Schwartzman Sunday at 3 p.m.
Outdoor & Family Activities
Bent of the River Fall Migration Hike in Southbury: September 5
The Bent of the River Audubon Center hosts a guided Fall Migration Hike from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
The program focuses on bird habitat and migration, with binoculars available to borrow. Advance registration is required, and a September 6 rain date has been scheduled.
Quassy Amusement & Waterpark: Middlebury
For one final amusement-park outing, Quassy offers rides, the Wooden Warrior roller coaster, Splash Away Bay, lakefront recreation and games along Lake Quassapaug.
Operating hours and individual attraction schedules can vary, so check Quassy's current calendar before visiting.
RidgeCon in Ridgefield: September 5
Ridgefield Library's annual RidgeCon returns Saturday at 472 Main Street.
The all-ages celebration includes cosplay, games, scavenger hunts and interactive pop-culture activities. The 2026 lineup includes Pokémon, Mario Kart, Minecraft activities and other experiences.
Milford Audubon Hike & Concert: September 6
At Milford Point, visitors can combine nature and music during an Audubon Trail Session.
A guided migratory bird hike runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by an outdoor indie-folk performance from 11 a.m. to noon.
Twins BBQ Corn Maze in Brookfield: Opening September 5
Labor Day weekend also marks the beginning of corn-maze season in Brookfield.
The Twins BBQ Corn Maze opens Saturday at 11 a.m. at 401 Federal Road. The five-acre maze offers more than a mile of pathways and is also scheduled to operate on Labor Day.

Fairfield International Food Fest: September 5
The Fairfield International Food Fest comes to Fairfield Theatre Company Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.
The event features 12 local food vendors representing cuisines from around the world, plus live music, cultural performances, films, children's activities and a 21+ tasting lounge.
Fairfield Restaurant Week: Through September 6
Labor Day weekend is also the final weekend of Fairfield's 2026 Summer Restaurant Week.
Participating Fairfield and Southport restaurants are offering special menus through Sunday, making it easy to pair dinner with the reenactment, food festival or another Fairfield activity.
